About 1,400 tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. today for Virginia Tech's season-opening football game against East Carolina. The game is scheduled for Aug. 30 at noon at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

The tickets became available after returning Virginia Tech student season ticket holders failed to purchase their entire allotment. The tickets are $55 plus handling charges and can be purchased at hokiesports.com or by calling Tech's ticket office at 1-800-828-3244.
