HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Harrisburg City Islanders scored twice in each half and routed the Richmond Kickers 4-1 last night in a United Soccer Leagues Second Division game.
In a rematch of last year's USL2 title match - won on penalty kicks by Harrisburg - the City Islanders scored twice in a span of two minutes in the opening half and led 2-0 at the break. The Kickers' only goal was by newcomer Ian Bennett in the 89th minute. Richmond fell to 4-4-0, while Harrisburg improved to 2-1-5.
Richmond returns home Tuesday to face Fredericksburg in a U.S. Open Cup first-round match at Sports Backers Stadium at 8 p.m.
