The singles portion of the Davenport City Tennis Championships resumes today, but the weather will dictate whether it will be at Byrd Park or in a couple of the area's indoor facilities.

The women's semifinals are slated for a 5 p.m. start and match top-seeded Bridget Reichert vs. No. 3 Lindsey Wyeth and No. 2 Kirsten Elim vs. fourth-seeded Ginny Wortham. The final is tomorrow at 11 a.m.

On the men's side, the quarterfinals are also set for 5 today at Byrd Park. Top-seeded Carl Clark meets No. 6 Scott Steinour, and No. 8 Kyle Parker faces unseeded Kevin McMillen in one half, while No. 2 Sean Steinour plays No. 5 John Snead, and No. 7 Lynn Bybee meets co-No. 9 Phil Thacker in the other. The semifinals are tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the final set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

Today's forecast calls for scattered showers much of the day, and a decision likely will be made before 5 p.m. about where the matches will be played.

YESTERDAY'S RESULTS

Mixed doubles - first round: Butterworth-Butterworth d. Dombrovsky-Holmvik 6-0, 6-2.
