Another loss for the University of Virginia football program is the University of Richmond's gain.

Vincent Brown, who served as a graduate assistant at U.Va. last season, will join new coach Mike London's staff at UR. He will be the linebackers coach.

London also was a member of the U.Va. football staff last season. He accepted the head job at his alma mater last month.

The Spiders officially announced that Jeff Hanson is returning to become assistant head coach. He'll also serve as defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. Hanson, who was at VMI last season, previously has been an assistant at his alma mater (UR) for 26 years.

Brown was an All-American at Mississippi Valley State and spent eight years in the NFL with the New England Patriots, retiring in 1995. In 2006, the Atlanta native worked as inside linebackers coach for Dallas under Bill Parcells.

London is expected to complete his staff next week, and indications are Russ Huesman, who was the defensive coordinator under former coach Dave Clawson, will retain that title, and Lafayette assistant Mike Faragalli will become the offensive coordinator.
