Jordan Brown hit a two-run home run, and Todd Linden had a bases-clearing double yesterday as Buffalo overwhelmed visiting Richmond in the first game of a four-game series.

Brown's home run, his fifth, came in the fourth inning to put the Bisons up 2-0. Buffalo added two runs on a Morgan Ensberg double in the fifth inning and one run in the seventh on a Linden single to go up 5-0.

In the eighth, the Bisons went up 10-0 on a single, a throwing error by Braves shortstop Derrick Arnold that brought in a run and Linden's double. The Braves tried to rally back in the ninth, scoring two runs on Scott Thorman's homer, his 16th this season.

Braves pitcher James Parr (0-2), called up to Richmond from Mississippi yesterday, lasted five innings. He gave up four runs on seven hits. Right-handed pitcher Matt DeSalvo faces the Bisons' right-hander Jeff Weaver tonight.
