PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- The Richmond Braves lost their third straight game to the Pawtucket Red Sox last night and eighth of nine overall, falling 10-1 at McCoy Stadium.

Richmond has allowed 33 runs in its past four games, while scoring only 10 of its own. In five of their past nine, the Braves have managed to score only one run.

Last night, starter Jerome Gamble (0-2) lasted only 32/3 innings for the Braves, allowing six hits and seven runs, all earned.

Clay Buchholz (3-1) earned the win for the Red Sox, allowing only one run over 62/3 innings -- first baseman Barbaro Canizares' homer in the the seventh -- and striking out seven.

Pawtucket catcher George Kottaras had two solo home runs, and left fielder Bryan Pritz added two doubles and three RBI. Pawtucket's 4-5-6-7 hitters had more hits between them (10) than all of the Braves combined (eight).

The Braves return to The Diamond tomorrow night for two games apiece against Charlotte and Durham.
