Mary Simpson scored six goals, and Elizabeth Bryant and Hannah Byrne contributed two goals each as Trinity Episcopal defeated Covenant 13-12 in overtime yesterday in the championship game of the League of Independent Schools Division II girls lacrosse tournament.
Simpson outscored Covenant's top scorer, Katie Williams, who tallied five times, for the margin of victory. Addi Bollin added three goals for Covenant.
Trinity Episcopal also had goals from Gillie Grattan, Preston Slaughter and Barbara Strehler. Slaughter and Strehler also had assists. Freshman goal keeper Erin Salomonsky had 10 saves for the Titans.

Betsy Mastropieri and Tori O'Shea scored five goals each, powering Collegiate past St. Anne's-Belfield 12-3 for the League of Independent Schools Division I championship. Jennifer Romer and Libby Rosebro added one each for the Cougars. and Taylor Thomas made five saves.
