WOOD'S WINNERS
First race - Here's a unique chance to see a 1¼ mile harness race that kicks off the daily double. No. 6 Poweriscape keeps right on rolling for the formidable trainer-driver battery of Rich Macomber and Sean Bier. The 7-year-old gelding is flourishing in New Kent this fall, having collected three wins in three starts, so there isn't any reason to think he could faulter at the longer distance. No. 4 Our New Jet was a beaten favorite last start and has excelled in his last four outings. With Frank Milby aboard, he will be a factor. No. 2 Hi Sea won Sunday afternoon and rolls back quickly. No. 6 powers to victory.
Fourth race - No. 6 BJ's Tsunami steps up in class after winning by a neck in an easier condition Saturday night. The 9 year old faded in deep stretch racing in this company ten days ago, but driver/trainer O'Mara should be able to transition back seamlessly. No. 1 SF Decathlon and No. 1A Boy Blue is a Don Harmon trained entry and both have a real shot to triumph. The former fits the class nicely while the latter catches his easiest start in a bit. No. 9 Coopers Creek N gets Tom Jackson in the bike instead of Ingraham, and despite starting from way outside, could challenge. No. 6 to win.
Sixth race - Six filly and mare pacers take center stage in this evening's $10,000 feature. With Riley Rose taking a week off, eyes will be on No. 6 Drivin' Miss Rudee, who lost to Riley by 1½ lengths a week ago. Reinsman Chris Page's pacer will be favored and with good reason. No. 4 Camphor Hanover is a solid closer and his second start at Colonial should result in another top three effort. No. 5 Fox Valley Sage should remain consistent and we'll look for at least a top three finish as well. This trio stands out from the other three, so use No. 6 on top in your trifecta play.
