WOOD'S WINNERS

Fourth race -- No. 2 Our Cat and No. 2B Cowboy Code are both 7 years old and both have bankrolls over the $100,000 mark. The former comes in from Arlington and the latter ships in from Lone Star. Both fit this class nicely, plus, you really can't you go wrong betting a "Cowboy" shipping in from Texas. No. 8 Brickell has been stellar in his three starts here this summer and with an extra half furlong in the offing today, it should only benefit this 7 year old. No. 1 Love Conquers and No. 1A Spring Honour make up a David Ross owned entry. In a combined eleven starts at Colonial, neither has finished out of the money. These three in an exacta or trifecta box will do the trick, with No. 2 to win.

Seventh race -- No. 4 Sabino is a Todd Pletcher trainee and the early choice in the $60,000 Chenery Stakes for 2-year-old males. He is coming off a dominant win on Churchill's dirt track, but there were only five horses in the race. No. 8 Captain Bry also was impressive here July 6 on a yielding turf course. In his debut three weeks earlier, he lost by a neck on firm grass. He obviously will be in the chase. No. 9 Houseful has four starts, but nothing he's done is enticing enough to predict his outcome today. He could win for fun or even finish out of the top three. No. 4 Sabino to win.

Eighth race -- Another "baby" stakes race follows the Chenery. The $60,000 Tippett Stakes, for fillies, features a nice 11-horse field. No. 6 High On Top faded in the stretch over Arlington's synthetic track July 12 but since today's race is 1/16 of a mile shorter, she may not fade away. No. 8 Samatha's Strike has had a pair of solid recent works at Delaware and with Luis Garcia up top, she should be poised for a nice debut. No. 9 Passum Pattie had a successful career start July 10th at Charlestown and tries turf and a bit of extra distance today. No. 6 to win.
