The Tri-City Summer League concludes tonight at George Wythe High in South Richmond. To no one's surprise, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Ben Wallace's team is in the championship game.
Wallace Express, which has dominated the local pro-am summer league for the past decade, will meet DTLR/Cosmopolitan Lounge for the title tonight at 7 o'clock. This is a rematch of the 2007 championship game, which Wallace Express won 100-76 at John Marshall High.
In last night's semifinals, DTLR/Cosmo beat S&E Entertainment 75-64, and Wallace Express edged Geoff McDonald and Associates 77-72. For DTLR/Cosmo, Kendrick Warren scored 26 points and Tyree Evans had 17. In the second game, Wallace had 25 points. His nephew Wayne Wallace added 19 points and Darius Hargrove had 16.
Tonight's game is free. The awards ceremony for the summer will start at 6:15 p.m.
