FORT MILL, S.C. - Brian Lawrence allowed just two hits over six innings, but it wasn't enough as the Richmond Braves dropped the last game of their four day series with the Charlotte Knights yesterday 3-2.

The Braves got things started off an RBI single by Brandon Jones in the first. With Charlotte scoreless, Richmond tried to keep the momentum going in the third, adding another run off Barbaro Canizares' single, putting the Braves ahead 2-0.

But the Knights answered in the fourth, scoring off Josh Fields' double and Danny Richar's single to tie it up at 2-2.

Both teams were held scoreless over the next three innings, until Charlotte's Fernando Cortez hit an RBI single in the eighth to score the decisive run.

The Braves had a chance to rally back in the ninth with two runners on and only one away, but Loadenthal grounded into a double play and ended the game.
