WOOD'S WINNERS

Third race - No. 5 Wheredideveryonego finished seventh here on opening week, went to Finer Lakes and got another seventh in a much higher class, and now returns to Virginia to race in more modest company where she is the 5-2 early choice. Karamanos has the mount and we'll look for a turnaround here. No. 6 Rememberthecowgirl has a ladies battery in trainer Vitiello and jockey Crews, and their 8-year-old mare came oh so close last time out. She actually drops in class today and will be a factor. No. 2 Running Gear is fresh off a win for the Crocker stable and will benefit from a slightly shorter distance. No. 5 to win.

Fifth race - No. 1 Hallucinojenic departs allowance company and says hello to claimers. He also says hello to Colonial Downs for the first time and should take nicely to the Secretariat Turf Course. No. 2 Steppedoutofplace tried the turf last start and romped to a 9-length victory over a modest size field. He does take a big jump in class, but those 9 lengths warrant consideration. No. 3 Frankie W has a pair of dirt efforts this meet here and transitions to grass with Luis Garcia in the irons. He's 15-1, but we're just looking to complete a triple here. No. 1 is the choice.

Seventh race - No. 4 Americanism is only 1 for 39, but has plenty of second and third place finishes the past two seasons. Karamanos gets a shot today and the 5-year-old Gulch gelding fits this field nicely. No. 8 Bred to Win has a pair of runner-up finishes this meet and veteran jock Santagata could extend that streak. Ditto for No. 10 Big Jim M. He has a pair of runner-ups, returns to the same class and has the steady Quinones in the irons. One equine athlete from this trio of bridesmaids will get to the altar today. No. 4 poses for the picture.
