First Tee of Richmond is expected to reopen early next month, according to city officials.
The program's facility, which provides lifeskills, core values and golf instruction for juniors, has been closed since tropical storm Ernesto caused severe floodings that left much of the nearby Battery Park neighborhood under water on Sept. 1, 2006.
The Department of Public Utilities spent much of the past 18 months using the First Tee facility as a staging area for the extensive repairs of the area's drainage system. -- Ralph N. Paulk
