JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Andre Gill and Trevor Karasiewicz scored in the shootout session, lifting the Richmond Renegades to a 2-1 victory over the Jacksonville Barracudas yesterday and a sweep of their weekend series.
Dan Vandermeer, the Renegades' leading scorer with 65 points, connected for his 12th goal at 10:36 of the third period to pull Richmond into a 1-1 tie.
In the shootout, Gill scored on Richmond's third crack at Jacksonville goalie Tim Haun, and Karasiewiz converted on the fifth attempt.
Renegades goalie Ryan Senft stopped 41 of 42 shots in regulation and overtime and all four Barracudas skaters in the shootout.
The Renegades, who won for the fourth time five games, return to action Friday at the Coliseum when they entertain the Knoxville Ice Bears at 7:35 p.m.
