The Richmond Symphony has announced that it has received two grants totaling $750,000 from the Mary Morton Parsons Foundation.
The first grant, a $500,000 matching grant, was awarded to the Richmond Symphony Foundation Endowment for its Mary Morton Parsons Foundation Education Fund. This fund assists the orchestra in its many educational outreach programs and support of its youth orchestra activities.
Additionally, a $250,000 grant was given toward the expenses the orchestra will encounter as it makes the transition back to its permanent home at Richmond CenterStage after the 2008-09 season.
