On May 13, 2008, at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, Allen and Allen awarded 15 high-school seniors with the Allen Law Firm Scholarship.
The firm's scholarship program recognizes students who have overcome unusual obstacles or special challenges and have achieved high standards of community service and academic performance.
This year, Allen and Allen received more than 265 applications. From those, 15 remarkable young men and women from 14 high schools were chosen as recipients of a $1,500 scholarship.
"It is amazing to meet these young adults who have achieved so much when the odds were against them," said Emily Krause, co-chair of the 2008 Scholarship Committee. "It has been an honor to be part of such a worthwhile program."
Congratulations to:
This was the 17th year for the firm's scholarship program. The Allen Law Firm Scholarship Program was established to honor the firm's founder, George E. Allen Sr., who overcame significant challenges in his youth before putting himself through college and law school. He became one of the commonwealth's top trial attorneys and established one of the premier personal injury law firms in the state.
