Richmond police get more help today

Six neighborhood-assistance officers will graduate in a ceremony today at 6 p.m. at Richmond Police Headquarters, 200 West Grace St.
The new officers are Charles D. DeNoewer, Tyren C. Frazier, Clarence E. Gilliam, Michael S. Henderson, Norton F. Richman and Christopher S. White.
They join 23 non-sworn neighborhood assistance officers who work as volunteers in the department, helping with traffic control, crowd control, motorist assistance and checkpoint operations.
They are not authorized to make arrests or carry firearms.
