Henrico library specialist elected VEA president

Kitty Boitnott, a library-information specialist at Chamberlayne Elementary School in Henrico County, has been elected president of the Virginia Education Association.
She defeated VEA vice president Jeff Cobb, a Virginia Beach history teacher.
Boitnott will succeed Princess Moss on Aug. 1.
Meg Gruber has been elected VEA vice president, also effective Aug. 1. Gruber is an earth-science teacher at Forest Park High School in Prince William County. She defeated Joseph Marler, a Bristol elementary teacher.
The VEA represents nearly 60,000 teachers and education-support employees statewide.
