Richmond Police Chief Rodney Monroe is scheduled to attend a public forum next week in Charlotte, N.C., where he is a finalist for the job of top cop.
Charlotte officials today put out a statement confirming what the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported yesterday afternoon -- that Monroe is a finalist for the police chief's job in North Carolina's largest city.
Charlotte said Monroe and the other finalists are to appear at a public forum May 13 at 6 p.m. at the Blake Hotel in Uptown Charlotte. Charlotte residents will have a chance to ask questions of the finalists at the forum.
The other finalists are Jerry Sennett, a deputy chief in Charlotte, and Alan Dreher, a deputy chief in Atlanta.
