Cultural revolution expert Joel Garreau will talk about what it means to be human June 11, 2008, at the Robins Pavilion, Jepson Alumni Center at the University of Richmond.

The MathScience Innovation Center Foundation event starts at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner featuring Garreau, a reporter and editor at The Washington Post. Tickets are $125 per plate.

Garreau's latest book, "Radical Evolution: The Promise and Peril of Enhancing Our Minds, Our Bodies, and What It Means to Be Human," takes an unprecedented look at the hinge in history at which we have arrived. "Radical Evolution" is about altering human nature -- not in some distant tomorrow, but in the next 10 or 20 years.
