VIRGINIA BEACH -- A nurse in Virginia Beach faces charges that he stole a credit card from a dead man and used it to buy a laptop computer.

Police say 24-year-old Matthew Wiseman is charged with one count of credit-card theft and one count of credit-card fraud. Authorities say he stole the credit card from a man who was pronounced dead after arriving at the emergency room at Sentara Bayside Hospital.

Claudia Puopolo had called to cancel her husband Michael's credit card when she learned it had been used six hours after he died.

Surveillance footage showed a man in scrubs buying the computer. Police say hospital workers helped identify Wiseman, who was fired last Monday.
