The commencement of Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education will be held Saturday, May 31, at Reveille United Methodist Church, 4200 Cary Street Road, at 10 a.m.
The Rev. Gary Charles, pastor of Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, will preach at the Richmond commencement. Charles is a trustee and alumnus of Union-PSCE. In his address, "Get a Life," he will speak to graduates going forth to serve as pastors, Christian educators and scholars.
Union-PSCE will confer 66 degrees in the commencement of the 196th session of Union-PSCE. Earlier this spring, 16 graduates received degrees from the extension campus in Charlotte, N.C.
Founded in 1812, Union-PSCE offers nine graduate degree programs to prepare men and women for Christian leadership in church and society. It is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Located in Richmond, Va., Union-PSCE established an extension campus in Charlotte, N.C., in 2002.
