Ed Vasaio, a strong supporter of quality educational programs for young children and the owner of Mamma Zu's Italian restaurant, will host a fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. June 1 for the new Central Montessori School in Church Hill.
David Freed, a professor emeritus at Virginia Commonwealth University and remarkable printmaker, will present one of his original prints for auction to the gathering of 60 patrons during a family-style dinner of Italian cuisine prepared by Vasaio.
All proceeds will help establish a fully realized dual-language program at the school. Central Montessori School is the first Montessori school in the Richmond area to include a Spanish-speaking curriculum that parallels the English-speaking curriculum eight hours a day, each day of the week.
A donation of $100 per plate will secure a reservation.
Please contact Central Montessori School at (804) 447-7493 or centralmontessorischool@comcast.net for tickets. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
Mamma Zu's is at 501 S Pine St.
