One person has been confirmed dead in the collision of a school bus and another vehicle this afternoon on eastbound U.S. 360 in Amelia County, said state police spokesman Sgt. Tom Cunningham, who was on his way to the scene.

Cunningham said the person who died was not aboard the bus.

"There are injuries on the bus but I don't know the extent," he said. The wreck occurred about 3:50 p.m. in front of a Food Lion store, he said.
