A Richmond Circuit Court jury today found John Cary guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Juanita Burnley last November.

Burnley died of a single gunshot wound to the back of her head. Witnesses testified that she was shot moments after an argument with Cary in the South Richmond apartment they shared.

The jury recommended a 25-year sentence for the murder and an additional eight years on firearms charges.
