An exterminating company truck caught fire briefly this morning in South Richmond, but there were no injuries, no toxic releases and no evacuations.

The fire was reported at 9:10 a.m. in the 5700 block of Boynton Place, one block north of Forest Hill Avenue and three blocks east of the Powhite Parkway.

The truck that caught fire, a pickup from Exterminating Unlimited Inc. of Mechanicsville, was parked in a driveway at the time.

The fire was quickly brought under control, but not before it charred the shell on the bed of the pickup.
