A suspect in the stabbing of a man in East Richmond turned himself in at police headquarters last night and was charged with aggravated assault, Capt. Linda Samuel said.
Police identified the defendant as Michael Cotman, 23, of Richmond.
The victim, whose injuries were not life-threatening, was listed in stable condition this morning at VCU Medical Center.
About 7:30 p.m. yesterday, two men were at a cookout in the 1900 block of Rodgers Street when they got into an argument that led to the stabbing, Samuel said.
The men are acquaintances, police said.
