Richmond police questioned four people last night in connection with a drive-by shooting that left one person seriously injured.
Around 6:20 p.m., two vehicles were stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of Maury Street and Commerce Road in South Richmond when a third car approached them and the occupants opened fire, Capt. Linda Samuel said.
One car was hit four times, but no one in it was injured. The other car was hit once, injuring the sole occupant. He was taken to VCU Medical Center. Samuel said it appears that the person wounded was not the intended target.
A short time later, a car fitting the description of the one driven by the shooters was stopped by police and two weapons were seized, Samuel said. The suspects were taken in for questioning, she said.
