The Crochet and Knitting group from the Colonial Heights Senior Center received the Sara Cole Myers Award for outstanding volunteer service Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the RSVP Recognition Luncheon.

This past year, the group donated hats, scarves, preemie-caps, slippers, blankets and stuffed animals (fully outfitted) to the James House, the Christmas Shoebox Project, CARES and From the Heart.

This group has donated more than 2,400 items and 9,895.5 hours of crochet/knit time. Local groups and organizations donated all the yarn that was used.
