Volunteers are being sought to participate in the James River Regional Cleanup on June 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at selected sites along the James in central Virginia. The cleanup is being co-sponsored by the James River Advisory Council and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Past cleanups have seen hundreds of volunteers on foot and in boats dedicate part of a day to collect litter from the shoreline and water. This year's event will include 11 official cleanup sites located as far west as Appomattox County and as far east as Charles City County.

To register, visit www.jamesriveradvisorycouncil.com, select a location from a list of official cleanup sites, then complete the electronic entry form. For details, call the James River Regional Cleanup information line at (804) 717-6688.
