The U.S. Postal Service has set up a hot line for Henrico County residents who did not receive surveys about changing their mailing addresses from "Richmond, VA" to "Henrico, VA."

People may call (866) 900-9845 to request a survey but must have an address in one of the 11 Henrico County ZIP codes that are being reviewed. Saturday is the postmark deadline for the returned surveys.

Surveys were sent to Henrico homes and businesses in these ZIP codes: 23075, 23228, 23229, 23231, 23233, 23238, 23242, 23250, 23255, 23288 and 23294.

Five ZIP codes -- 23222, 23223, 23226, 23227 and 23230 -- will not be surveyed because they cover geographic Richmond as well as Henrico addresses.

Chamberlayne Heights resident Wanda Evans, who lives in the 23227 ZIP code, said she is unhappy about being excluded.

"Everybody in our neighborhood is upset that we were not included, that other county residents get to make the decision for us," Evans said.

County spokeswoman Tamra McKinney said it was the Postal Service's decision to exclude those areas.

"Frankly, Henrico is a little disappointed because we wanted those people who live in those ZIP codes to be able to vote as well," McKinney said. "A lot of them would have supported the change."

She added that if the majority of survey respondents agree to the address change, residents in those five ZIP codes will have the option of using Henrico as their address, although Richmond would remain the preferred address.
