JMU player gets national honor for big plays in win over UR

James Madison University junior Scotty McGee's has been named national special-teams player of the week by the Sports Network and College Sporting News.
McGee's electrifying 69-yard punt return for a touchdown in the final seconds against the University of Richmond on Saturday gave the top-ranked JMU Dukes a 38-31 victory over the UR Spiders at UR Stadium. He also had a 31-yard kickoff return earlier in the game that set up a JMU TD.
McGee has scored five TDs on kickoff returns in his career, the JMU record. He ranks third this season in Football Championship Subdivision on kickoff returns (35.6-yard average). He averages 12.9 yards on punt returns.
