ROANOKE _ Former President Bill Clinton is in Virginia to campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in Roanoke and Richmond.
At a rally in Roanoke early Sunday night, Clinton told several hundred people that Obama has the "instincts" to be president.
The former president spoke at an outdoor rally at Market Square, where he said Obama has asked his advisers to tell him "the right thing" to do to pull the nation out of its economic morass, rather than a politically popular solution.
This was Clinton's first visit to Virginia in support of Obama, who trounced Hillary Clinton in the state's presidential primary.
Bill Clinton was scheduled to address a rally later Sunday in Richmond.
