Dominion Virginia Power says it's taking longer than expected to restore power to about 39 Henrico County customers who lost electricity when a vehicle crashed into two power poles early this morning, killing the driver.

The utility says power should be restored by about 8 p.m.

The identity of the driver has not been released. Police say a speeding driver crashed into the poles on Pouncey Tract Road near Shady Grove Road and the vehicle caught fire.

Power was initially cut to about 4,000 homes, but restored in about 30 minutes.
