Fort Lee's Oktoberfest is set for 5-11 p.m. tomorrow

Fort Lee will have its annual Oktoberfest from 5 to 11 p.m. tomorrow, featuring German music, dancing and food, a 5K Volksmarch and a 10K race, as well as rides and games for children.

Oktoberfest is open to the public and will be at the Post Field House, 16th Street and A Avenue, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m.

Cost to attend is $6; children under 12 will be admitted free.

The Oktoberfest 10K race will start at 8 a.m. at the Field House. Early registration is $13. Race-day registration is $15 and will take place between 6:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.

The Volksmarch fitness walk begins at 3 p.m. at Field House. Early registration is $8. The fee will be $10 on Saturday.

Runners and walkers can register today at the fort's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation office's Sports Office, Building 4320 on C Avenue, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

To enter Fort Lee, those without a Defense Department vehicle decal must show their driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance. Adult passengers must show their driver's license or some other form of legal identification.

The event is sponsored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch, High Street Lofts, Edward Jones and Busch Gardens. Parking is free. For more details, call (804) 765-3076 or (804) 765-3176.
