Here's a snapshot of emergency calls during the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 6, as reported by Metro Richmond fire departments.

RICHMOND

Fire Calls: 150 Emergency Medical Calls: 390 EMS: Cardiac arrests (5), chest pains (47), breathing problems (133), shootings (2), stabbings (3), unconsciousness (56).

Significant Events:

  • Fire: 1940 Kimrod Road. House fire. Heavy smoke conditions on arrival. Fire started in the kitchen and extended into the attic; cause, undetermined.
  • Fire: 1837 Fernbrook Drive. Apartment fire. Smoke visible from a two-story apartment complex. Three adults and one child displaced; under investigation.

    HENRICO

    Fire Calls: 160 Emergency Medical Calls: 513

    Significant Events:

  • Fire: Bedroom fire in single-family dwelling. No injuries; accidental.

    HANOVER

    Fire Calls: 106 Emergency Medical Calls: 154 EMS: Diabetic emergencies (3), chokings (2).

    Significant Events:

  • Fire: 14400 block of Washington Highway. Industrial warehouse fire in exhaust fan. Minor damage.
  • Fire: 9500 block of Alex Garden Court. Kitchen fire in residence.
  • Fire Safety: Space heaters need space. Keep units 36 inches away from combustibles.
