Jermaine Holliman pleaded guilty today in Henrico Circuit Court to charges of aggravated malicious wounding and conspiracy in connection with an attack on his estranged wife's male friend.

Henrico Commonwealth's Attorney Wade Kizer said Holliman, 34, of Lee's Summit, Mo., drove to Richmond to beat Corey Williams with a softball bat.

The attack took place July 1 outside Williams' apartment in the 600 block of Windomere Avenue, off Chamberlayne Avenue.

The attack was so vicious that Williams was in a coma for weeks and likely will suffer lifelong neurologic deficits, according to medical records.

Holliman faces up to life plus 10 years in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 23.
