CarMax Inc. announced this afternoon it is cutting 600 jobs, 15 of them in Richmond.

Most of the jobs lost will come from cuts at it production facilities where vehicles are reconditioned, the company announced.

Last week, the company reported that in the three months ending Aug. 31, it saw a 17 percent dip in traffic, compared with last year.

Same-store sales, which is sales at stores open at least a year,  also fell by 17 percent.
