A ticket puchased in Salem is worth $1 million, the top prize in the Virginia Lottery's 20th Birthday Raffle.

Virginia Lottery officials said that the ticket was purchased at County Line Tobacco, but didn't specify when.

Three tickets worth $20,000 each were purchased in Richmond, Portsmouth and Nassawadox. Two-thousand other tickets are each worth $20.

The raffle ran from September 1 through September 19, marking the 20th anniversary of the state lottery. Tickets cost $5 each, and players purchased 226,331 tickets.
