A road game against Oklahoma and former coach Jeff Capel highlights Virginia Commonwealth University's 2008-09 basketball schedule.
Capel coached at VCU for four seasons before moving to Oklahoma for the 2006-07 season. He was replaced by Anthony Grant, who has taken the Rams to the NCAA tournament and the National Invitation Tournament.
The Rams will play 12 nonconference games that include a visit to Richmond, four games in the Cancun Challenge (one against New Mexico) and one on the road in ESPN's Bracketbusters series. They will play 18 Colonial Athletic Association games.
VCU opens its season at home against The Citadel on Nov. 16 at 4 p.m.
