The Goochland County Branch NAACP will host its annual Freedom Fund Banquet and King/Queen Contest on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at 6 p.m. at the Quioccasin Baptist Church's Fellowship Hall, 9011 Quioccasin Road, Richmond, Virginia.

This year's theme is "Power, Justice, Freedom, Vote." Gwen Williams, a WRIC news anchor, is the guest speaker.

During the event, John Cox and Andrew Anderson will be honored for their service to the community and to the organization.

Also, the crowning of the Goochland County Branch NAACP's king or queen will take place. That person will represent Goochland County at the state NAACP conference Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2008.
