A house in Richmond's East End was significantly damaged in a fire just after dawn today.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which was detected shortly after 6:30 a.m. in a brick rancher in the 1300 block of North 37th Street, near the Canepa Street intersection.

Fire officials said the house appeared to be unoccupied.

The fire was quickly contained, and crews began checking the ceiling and attic for hot spots.
