The National Weather Service has two words for morning commuters today: Slow down.

The weather service says there will be patchy fog in the Richmond area before 8 a.m., giving way to sunny conditions and a high in the upper 80s later this afternoon.

Looking ahead, there is a chance of showers tomorrow and Wednesday, and partly sunny skies are in the forecast for Thursday and Friday.
