NORFOLK -- The Navy fleet that includes every ship in Hampton Roads is poised to leave port and head out to sea to weather tropical storm Hanna.

Chief Randy Bagoly says all 37 Navy ships in the area are prepared to leave their ports within 24 hours as the storm approaches.

Bagoly says Navy ships are able to withstand a major storm better at sea than in a port.
