Richmond Braves outfielder Josh Anderson ran his club-record hitting streak to 26 games tonight, but for the second night in a row the Columbus Clippers came from behind to win.
Anderson led off with a single in a game in Columbus, Ohio.
The Braves scored three runs in the first, but didn't score again. Columbus scored a run in the second inning, another in the sixth and two in the seventh to win 4-3.
Anderson is closing in on the longest steak in the minor leagues this year -- a 30-game streak by Quinten Berry of Clearwater in the Class A Florida State League. Portland's Peter Cioforne has the longest streak in Triple-A at 27 games. Neither of those streaks is active.
Anderson's streak is the longest in the International League this season, one better than Randy Ruiz's earlier run.
The R-Braves have 12 games left after tonight, so this season Anderson won't be able to challenge the all-time IL record (43, set by Columbus' Brandon Watson last year) or the all-time minor-league record (69, set by Wichita's Joe Wilhoit in 1919).
The previous R-Braves' hitting-streak record of 19 straight was set by Junior Moore in 1976 and matched by Jarvis Brown in 1994.
