The Virginia State Bar announced today that it has revoked a Christiansburg lawyer's license to practice law after the lawyer admitted forging the signatures of judges and other officials on legal documents.

Gerard Raymond Marks also admitted that he "accepted client money without performing the work for which he was hired" and that he "issued a purported settlement check to a client when no settlement had occurred," according to a written statement from the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board.

Marks consented to the license revocation, according to statement.
