A fire that gutted a two-story office building in the Innsbrook Corporate Center on Saturday night was caused by an electrical accident, Henrico County fire officials have determined.

The blaze destroyed a commercial building at Sadler Place and Cox Road.

Capt. Chris Buehren, spokesman of the Henrico Fire Department, said investigators from the fire marshal's office used heavy equipment to examine what remains of the building at 5030 Sadler Place.

"[The fire] seems to have started on the first floor and resulted from some type of electrical accident," Buehren said.

Fire officials said the building, which had multiple tenants, lacked smoke detectors and a sprinkler system.

Thirty-two fire personnel and 10 trucks responded to the fire at 9:30 p.m. after receiving a call from a passerby. No one was injured in the blaze, but damage was estimated at more than $1 million.
