A coalition of groups representing labor unions, health professionals, the faith community and others today launched a $40 national million campaign to push for affordable health care for all.

The effort, Health Care for America Now, is being kicked off today in more than 50 cities around the country.

The Virginia Organizing Project, local organizer for the effort, held a press briefing this morning at the Virginia General Assembly building in Richmond.

"Americans know it is getting tougher to get good, affordable health care -- no matter how hard you work," said Ladelle McWhorter, secretary of the Virginia Organizing Project. "Even if you take responsibility for your care and make good choices for yourself and your family, there is no guarantee you'll get what you've paid for."

The national campaign will include print, television and online advertising and door-to-door canvassing.
