A 51-year-old Emporia woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash early today in Greensville County.

Virginia State Police said Eugenia Bowman Depriest died at the time of the 12:17 a.m. collision on state Route 611, 1 mile west of state Route 1007. She was driving a car that veered into incoming traffic and hit another car head-on, police said. She was not wearing a seat belt, authorities said.

State police reported three other road fatalities today, bringing Virginia's 2008 highway death toll to 409, compared with 500 at the same time last year.

-- Cameron Owen May, 17, of Brookneal died at 12:40 a.m. today at the scene of a crash on state Route 40, just east of state Route 880 in Halifax County. Police said he lost control of the car, which ran off the road and struck a tree. May, who police said was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.

-- Rosevelt Rogers, 70, of New Jersey died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday in a crash on Interstate 95, just north of Exit 143 in Stafford County. Police said Rogers lost control of the car, which struck a bridge, rolled one time and came to rest on the shoulder of the highway. He was wearing a seat belt, police said.

-- Nicole J. Lambert, 26, of Virginia Beach died at 1:32 p.m. Saturday, about 20 minutes after a crash on Blackwater Road, 1 mile north of Ives Road in Virginia Beach. Police said Lambert came out of a sharp turn and lost control of the car, which ran off the road and flipped. She was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
