Comcast's Fourth of the July Extravaganza, originally scheduled for this evening at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, has been canceled because of storms in the area, a county spokesman said.

The annual event includes a fireworks show at dark.

"There are no plans at the present time for a later event," county spokesman Don Kappel said in statement broadcast to local news outlets.
